Walk directly from your Hotel Sonnhof or let the Sun Terrace bus take you to the most beautiful starting points. 100 km of perfectly groomed winter trails await you in the middle of a white-powdered dream landscape. With snowshoes, it’s effortless to get to stunning viewpoints that will take your breath away – even over deep snow. Borrow snowshoes and poles free of charge at our reception and off you go. We can advise you and also organise a guided snowshoe hike for you with a stop at a mountain farm.

Gliding through the winter wonderland on cross-country ski trails

Crystal clear air, plenty of sunshine and a beautiful white landscape: that’s cross-country skiing on Salzburg’s Sun Terrace! For a first, small one-kilometre round, you can access the Sonnhof cross-country ski trail directly in our hotel garden. A total of 50 km of perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails await you. Through the larch forest or across the golf course, along the lake at Goldegg Castle or with an impressive view of the Hochkönig: you are sure to find your favourite trail(s)! From very easy to extremely difficult, Nordic skiing or skating – and you can even enjoy a trip out in the evening on the illuminated Filz trail in St. Veit. Experts will enjoy the challenge of the Olympic cross-country skiing trail. We will be happy to organise professional cross-country skiing training for you.
