Der Sonnhof by Vitus Winkler is situated in an idyllic setting at an altitude of 760 metres on the outskirts of the tranquil market town of St. Veit im Pongau. Here you can spend your holidays on the “Salzburg Sun Terrace” – a high plateau above the Salzach. The sun likes to shine here and we are protected from cold north winds by the Hochkönig. St. Veit is also part of the Salzburg amadé world of skiing – perfect for lovers of winter sports.

Arriving by car
Coming from Salzburg (70 km), Munich (195 km), Vienna (365 km) or Villach (160 km), take the A10 Tauern motorway to the Pongau junction / Bischofshofen exit (Exit 47). Then continue to St. Veit on the B311 trunk road in the direction of Schwarzach. As our guest, you can park directly at the Hotel Sonnhof free of charge.
Arriving by train
The nearest train station is the IC station Schwarzach-St. Veit. We will be happy to organise a taxi to collect you if you wish. If you travel in an environmentally friendly way by train, St. Veit will give you a regional bus pass (St. Veit-Schwarzach-Goldegg) to use during your holiday.
By plane
The nearest airport is Salzburg Airport W.A. Mozart, 60 km away from us. Cheap flights are available from Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover or Cologne (Hapag Lloyd Express), and the airport also connects Salzburg to cities in neighbouring European countries such as Manchester, Paris and Barcelona (Sky Europe). We will be happy to organise an airport transfer for you on request.
